good news

Congratulations to my hardworking hubby! Yesterday we found out that he was accepted into the Management program at BYU!! It is incredible how excited you can get for someone. School can be a major stress especially when you're not sure what you should be majoring in or if you're going to get accepted. It is hard for us people who like to have a plan and to know what is ahead of us when we can barely predict what tomorrow will look like. The anticipation was a bit nerve wracking and I felt so relieved for Josh when we found out that he got in. I am so proud of all his hard work and positive attitude! Congrats my love! I am so proud of you :)

We went and celebrated!

i'm coming home baby

It is a little funny to me how "home" is now wherever Josh is. Even though our crammed, definitely not ideal hotel room would be far from what anyone considers "home", right now it is mine. It is mine because that is where Josh is, and he has my heart. Where ever we go, where ever I am, he will be my home. My safe haven. My comfort zone. My place of no judgment. My everything. I cannot wait to drive home and curl up in those loving arms. I miss you my handsome husband. And I'm a coming home!

idaho, before the babe came

We had some fun taking a few pictures. All the waiting inside got us all a little anxious and jittery!

Chels, (while still at home waiting for Brynlee to finally come). She makes the best funny faces.

More to come on Chels and labor experiences later!

do it how you do it yea, walk it out

We have been trying what we can to get this baybay out! Doing a lot of walking, bouncing, talking to B and foot massaging. The due day is officially today... so we will see what happens in the next couple days! It is going to be exciting, crazy, difficult, overwhelming, happy, and simply amazing! The start to a new adventure of a growing family!

p.s. Sorry for the sideways video, but I don't know how to change it. You get the idea.

the help

I finished the book The Help yesterday! I know that I am WAY behind all the people who read this and watched the movie a long time ago, but I don't tend to go with the crowd all the time. I'm a bit stubborn that way. Oh, I forgot how much I love to read a good book! Can't wait to start up another book. I wonder what will be next...

Live-Love-Laugh

Live

  • Officially finished our move to Billings, Montana! And then I road trip away...
  • My first experience being away from my hubby for more than 24 hours! :( One week seems like forever sometimes. Hey, I'm wimpy. But in love.
  • In Idaho for about a week visiting my sis Chelsea. She is officially due tomorrow and we are waiting in anticipation for her to go into labor!
  • Longest road trip by myself to record. 5.5 hours from Montana to Rexburg, Idaho. Little did I know that there were one way highways the entire way. Which I despise/refuse to drive! Until Friday in which I had no choice but to drive it and dread the way home. I almost had a heart attack the first time I had to pass an RV in my little, not powerful car, hoping and praying that I wouldn't die. I didn't.

Love

  • The ability to have a good work out... now I need to motivate myself more to do more of those.
  • So when sleep time comes at night, me and Josh roll over to our own sides of the bed, cause sleep time is serious business and we both need that space. One night this week, in the middle of the night, I find us holding hands. Middle of the night. On purpose? I am not sure. But I thought it was dang cute. Even though I am sure that it didn't last long. It's love.
  • Cafe Rio. They have one in Billings!! And one night, Josh brought home nachos for us to share! MMMM! I think food is the way to my heart.
  • Getting to visit my sis and my mama!!
Laugh
  • The pictures me and my family take! I laughed so hard I'm pretty sure I cried.
  •  Josh keeps me laughing on a daily basis. He will keep me young forever.
  • When I walk by and some young kid is checking me out, and then my brother in law walks by right behind me, makes eye contact and he doesn't know where to put those eyes. Back off bub. I'm married and you just look like a fool.
  • A note pad we saw at the post office that said "Another loser called for you".

Well peeps. I'm in Idaho until I decide to go back. It might get busy here, it might not. So we will see if I can get any posts up this week! Happy Sunday everyone! And as I learned in church today, smile more! It changes people's days :)

trying to make our place feel a little more like home

See all those books under there? I am going to attempt to read a lot of them. We will see how it goes. I haven't read a book for fun since, well, probably sometime in high school. School ruins books.

Auntie Em

Dear B,
I am so excited to meet you soon. I can't believe that I am going to be an aunt in just a matter of days! I think that you should come a little early, so you can give your mama a break from feeling like a "beached whale", even though I think she is one stinkin' cute pregnant lady. She really wants to meet you and so do I. I just want you to know that you have one wonderful mama. She is beautiful, kind, creative, and she tells the best stories. I bet you will love her stories. She is going to be such a great mother. She is strong and loving and knows how to make a person feel loved and beautiful. She has been a very important part of my life, and I want you to let her be a big part of your life as well. Let her be your mom and your best friend. Moms make the greatest best friends. Be good to her, ya hear? I cannot wait to meet you my darling Brynlee.

Love,
Your Auntie Em

My personal favorite. Oh that laugh.

You live in a hotel? Yes, my life is very much like Monopoly.

Well folks. Just in case you didn't know already, yesterday we moved to Billings, Montana. And why yes, we are living in a hotel. This will be an interesting next 6 weeks. We don't have a kitchen, but we are grateful for at least the little mini fridge and the microwave that we have. No one tells you how creative you have to get when you're a newly wed and poor and working your way through life as best as you can. I need to get these creative juices flowing! But one day I will be able to tell my children about what we had to do to make it work and how we had to walk uphill both ways to school and didn't have video games to play all day. Or something along those lines. But we are here and embracing a new adventure, hoping and praying that work picks up a bit and trying to find out what there is to do while we are here! Adventure is out there!

Live-Love-Laugh

Live
  • Well, Josh and I left Nebraska! The company Josh works for moved locations from Omaha to Montana! We packed up all our things and took off, a little unexpectedly, Friday afternoon. We stopped in Colorado for Saturday and Sunday and we take off to Montana tomorrow.
  • While in Colorado we were able to see Josh's family! His cousin's wedding reception was in Colorado Springs and we went and surprised them!

  • The zoo this week!
  • Catching up with girl friends! I was able to get together with my friends Ally and Carissa who have been my friends since I moved to Colorado in the sixth grade. I hadn't seen Ally in 2 years! It was incredible to catch up with them. They are amazing girls.
  • We were in the neighborhood where one of the Colorado fires had hit. It was crazy to see which houses were standing and which were completely gone. There would be ten houses in a row standing, then one totally burned to the ground, and the whole row on the other side still standing. Fire is a crazy thing.
This is the view from Josh's aunt's house. There were cops posted at all the neighborhood entrances. What a crazy time.

Love
  • My mom takes such good care of us. She made us breakfast (eggs, bacon, and hash browns!) Saturday morning before she went off to work and we hadn't even seen her yet because we got in at about 1 in the morning!

  • Colorado. How it gets cooler at night and in the mornings. How it isn't humid all the time!
  • Playing games with my family.
  • How creative my hubby is and how we always find some way of entertaining ourselves. This is what happens when you are in stand still traffic. I think we are going to start a new trend. Dry erase markers are awesome.

Laugh (awk/awe)
  • My dance session in the car to keep up entertained and awake during the last couple hours of our drive to Colorado.
  • Running to open a door for Josh when he was carrying a large container full of water and running straight into the door because it was locked. There were three eye witnesses to this.
  • Awesome = JDawgs sauce with our BBQ today. yum yum yum.
  • Josh ate 4 hot dogs in one sitting without a second thought. That boy is impressive.
  • Josh letting me do an "outfit" picture of him! He was just looking so good I couldn't pass it up!

lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Wednesday morning Josh and I, along with two other couples that we are friends with, took a trip to the zoo towards downtown Omaha. We found out that we are leaving Omaha and heard that we really had to make it to the zoo while we were here! So we made some time to go. It was a fun trip out there, even though I was a bit of a drag. I am getting sick so I wasn't feeling well, added to the heat, added to all the walking, added to not enough food in me. It just wasn't the best mix to be at the zoo. But it was still cool to see all of the animals that they had! I felt like it was a really big zoo full of some pretty amazing exhibits. My favorite part might have been the "skyfari" which was a chair lift that took you over some habitats [it was a relaxing break, ok?!] We got an overhead view of some of the animals and only had to talk on way in stead of back and forth.

For some reason I thought this animal was so cool! Josh was not as impressed.

Monkies!

This fish was bigger than me!! So crazy!

Hard to tell... but we were watching a tiger eat a rabbit.

Look at those claws..

We got to watch the bears be fed. I had no idea that they would be eating celery, oranges and honey dew... I was thinking more along the lines of meat.

These next few cave pictures looked a lot cooler in the dark.

Skyfari!

Josh and Kayla, and behind them is Q and Ang.

Since Josh's friend is also named Josh, they call him Pete or Petey. And that was the name of this parrot! How do they not fly away? They were just out in the open.

Petey want a cracker? Or a stick?
