That water!

So fast!!

Hair because we were going so fast.

Oh it was a gorgeous night last night to be on the boat. I love these summer nights, enjoying the later hours of the evening soaking in the warm weather and sunlight with our loved ones. You just can't beat these summer nights. I am trying to soak up and enjoy each and every one, hoping that they just won't end.

our weekend in the tiny town of Salina

It was an amazing trip! In my post before the weekend I said that we were going to act like kids again and have a good weekend, and boy was this weekend more than I even expected! God is looking out for me and Josh and helped us have a fantastic weekend. I love the feel of small towns. Everyone seems to know each other, and everyone seemed to know that we were outsiders. The houses are old and cute, and even when there is tons going on in main street, there is no traffic because everyone is close enough to walk. I love the history behind the town that Grandma Peterson shared with us as we drove. She grew up there and we saw the houses that she lived in, the places that she worked at and the fun things that she did as a kid.

My absolute favorite was waking up at the crack of dawn, What! This is usually not my idea of a good time or a fun weekend, but this time it was. We got up early to go see the hot air balloon festival. 25 balloons from all over the country came to launch their balloons. Well, somehow one pilot did not have a crew so we volunteered! We helped them get everything set up, take everything down after he landed and most excited of all, WE RODE IN THE HOT AIR BALLOON WITH HIM. This has always been on my theoretical bucket list (I am going to actually make one this week, just so I can get the pleasure of checking these things off my list. Yes, I'm one of those kinds of people). It was an amazing experience!! Even better that it was unexpected and free. We quickly made friends with our pilot and his friend, Ray and Bernie. They had incredible stories to tell! We hit it off so well that we came back Sunday morning and helped them do it all again. But this time we were the balloon chasers! We had to follow them around and try to figure out where they were going to land and how to get to them without ruining a farmers crop or getting stuck in mud. It was a blast! This felt like a once in a lifetime opportunity and we soaked it all in! Saturday followed with a free breakfast, a short nap, and then a lot more festivities through out the day. We watched a basketball tournament on the streets and walked around the small shops. Bingo was also on the list of things to do, so we thought we might as well! Who would have known that we would have won three of the prizes that were all pretty awesome?! We actually had a ton of fun playing. I didn't realize that bingo could be so much fun. At night we went to dinner with Grandma at El Mexicano which was delicious. And then wandered main street at night.

Sunday we went to church with great grandma Blanche and I really enjoyed that as well. I hear a lot about her and I was finally able to meet her! After that we drove to Salt Lake, saw JOsh's sis Cami and then drove back up to Park CIty to spend the rest of the day relaxing. It was seriously the best weekend. We laughed and smiled and made fools of ourselves dancing and playing bingo and just had a great time. It was just what we needed.

Ray, me and Josh about to take off!

This is the balloon that we rode in. Me and Ray in this picture. We just landed.

we had a first timers initiation ceremony that involved drinking sparkling cider using our teeth to pick up the cup
and then the guy behind us poured water on us...

another DIY graphic tee

And another project that did not turn out how I thought it would but I think I like it anyway! The mistakes just make things more unique. They have character :) This tank was a bit big for me in the shoulders so I sewed up part of the back as well to give it a more flattering top.
