ornaments but no tree

Yesterday Josh and I put up some Christmas decorations! All of our decorations were gifts from his parents when we got married so that when Christmas rolled around we had some things to put up! We are grateful that we have things to decorate our little apartment. We don't have a tree this year,  but we still have the beautiful lights and ornaments! I love the lights and all of the feelings that accompany Christmas. Except for the fact that it makes me want to just snuggle up with Mr. P and pretend that school doesn't even exist :) I'm so grateful for my amazing and handsome hubby that I have to snuggle up with! And I am grateful for those moments where I really recognize that school really is not even close to as important as my hubby. I will remember the days that I spend with him and the adventures that we have, not all the exams or assignments that I have. Sometimes, this is important for me to remember. :)

a great thanksgiving

It was a great Thanksgiving surrounded by family. We got to go four wheeling, shoot the BB gun a little, take some pictures, eat some delicious food, hear some great stories from grandma and grandpa Blad, watch Brave in the dollar theater and just have a good time spending time with each other. Me and Josh even attempted some Black Friday shopping, but we didn't really have anything that we needed so not much spending happened (which is probably a really good thing :)).

Oh and here is the tree that the boys got the football stuck waaaaayyyy up high. It took a while and a lot of rock throwing to get it out. It was quite entertaining.

my first photo shoot

I aspire to be a photographer! And last week, I took pictures for Josh's aunt and uncle, Andrea and Kirk. This was my first photo shoot ever. They were just looking for a picture for their Thanksgiving newsletter (I think it is brilliant they send them out at Thanksgiving as opposed to Christmas), and then had a few other shots in mind for some other things they wanted. During this shoot I realized that I have so much to learn, and I am SO excited to learn it all. I still am figuring out how my camera works, angles, lighting and such and this was a great experience to start me on my way.

I absolutely love this family. They are so darling and simply beautiful. It made me feel so good to be able to provide them with some precious moments shots that their family will always have.

We say smile, so she frowns. Haha

This was just funny. She did not want to cooperate.

Those cheeks! :)

Thank you Andrea and Kirk for letting me take pictures for you! I love you guys :)

it is break and there is much to be thankful for

It has always been a pet peeve of mine when people call Thanksgiving "Turkey Day". In a half of a second, they just took out the whole meaning of the holiday! You can tell when people do this, where there focus of the holiday is (and don't get me started on when people say "xmas" instead of Christmas...).

Well like ever year, there is so much to be thankful for. Here are a few things that come to mind:
  • my handsome hubby who treats me like a queen
  • parents who I appreciate more and more as I get older and realize more about what parenting really is all about
  • hobbies, and being able to begin to expand mine with the purchase of our new camera
  • boots. They keep my feet nice and dry in this cold and wet
  • the atonement of Jesus Christ, and the knowledge that through him my sins can be washed clean
  • being able to further my education at BYU
  • professors who actually care
  • caramel dip for apples
  • our amazing bed that my uncle bought us this year
  • my marriage and knowing that I am sealed to my husband for time AND all eternity
  • food. always grateful for food.
I could seriously go on and on, but you all understand. I know I am so blessed in my life. And I know that all my blessings come from God and if I think life is hard or unfair, that if I look for blessings and things I am thankful for, I will find more than I ever realized and my days will be brighter.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you all have a wonderful little break!

Joke of the holiday:
q: Why do pilgrims pants always fall down?
a: because they wear their belts on their hats! ;)

snake

Ever played the game snake?

Well this is our first attempt at a stop motion video. I was editing pictures the other day and Josh decided he wanted to try and make a stop motion video to see how it works. And this is his little creation! It was fun to watch him and his creativity at work. Maybe during one of our breaks we will be able to make a more complex stop motion that we are the subject of :) This was also our first ever use of a movie editing program, so forgive the abrupt ending, and the pictures not all facing the right way. That was my doing :)

Sometimes I feel like I am hard core...

Until I see a picture of myself and remember that I'm most definitely not. Loving this leather jacket nonetheless :)

48

Between today and December 5th, I have 48 pages of written papers due. Holy cow. 48!! Who in the world decided this was okay on any level. Good news is, I have actually tried my hardest to be a good little student and stay on top of my writing through out the semester, but no matter how much planning ahead of time that  I do, I still stress a  lot tinsy bit about these papers. So I am off to try and finish the paper that is due tomorrow. I. Can. Make. It. Thanksgiving. Is. Almost. Here.

here's me wanting to be

We took some pictures today! It was freezing but it was fun :) Slowly but surely we are figuring our our new camera.

Today, I felt like a "true fashion blogger", only because of the poses haha but here is my first "outfit post". We shall see if there will be more!

Husband asked for a "sweet shout out" for being the camera man. So, here's a shout out to Joshua for being the camera man! ;)

And some purely were silly
