jeans: bootcut to skinny

It was a long day the other day watching the little kiddo that I nanny for. The boys all went on the boat and I opted to stay home and just RELAX and maybe even take a late evening nap. But as soon as I laid down I realized that I wasn't actually going to fall asleep and I was in the mood to do something crafty again, so I decided to try out some more sewing! I had these old pair of jeans that I found when I was at home a couple weeks ago. I haven't worn them in who knows how long and I just did not like the fit of the leg (a little wider than a boot cut?). So I decided to try and make them into skinny jeans. I found this simple tutorial on this cute girl's blog and I gave it a go! Please do not judge my awful pictures. It was dark, I used a tripod, its a bad angle, I am in the basement with awful lighting and for some reason my hair looks different in every picture...  awkward.

Well it definitely was an adventure trying this out. It took me several attempts on that first leg,  with a lot of seam ripping and re-trying on. BUT I like the jeans a lot more now than I did before. A new pair of jeans that cost me $0. Now I can't complain too much about that now can I. I hope the next pair that I try out turn out even better! It was a useful project that satisfied my crafting urge.
