So you might have guessed, you sly people you, that there has been a great change in my life (hence you are redirected to a new blog). To start out let me tell you a wonderful story.
Once upon a time there was a boy and a girl. And the rest was history. Okay okay, I'll give you a little more detail than that. Boy's name is Josh Peterson. Girl's name, you guessed it again, is Emily the one and only me! Spanish is where we happened to meet. 15 girls, 3 boys in the class. His odds were good (so he thought to himself as he walked into class for the first time). The friendship started with an insult to Boy's clothes and an extra credit Spanish movie. We became incredible friends. Our personalities are so much alike that it still amazes us today how we do and say the same things simultaneously. Although at the time I was dating another, we still maintained an incredible friendship.
Well, the tough decisions in life had to be made. I have never had to rely so much on prayer and personal revelation to help me make the decisions that I needed to and, hardest of all, act on them. It was then that I decided cookies over cake. Haha just joshing with ya ;) It was then that I took a big chance. And for those of you that know me, you know that I am not one for taking chances or change. But change is what soon came after I made the decision to follow my heart and take the "road less traveled" by beginning to date Josh. I went out on a limb, against what most everyone else thought was best for me, and I so hoped that my risk would be worth it.
I can tell you today that since the day I made that decision, I have never looked back. I have been proved day in and day out that I have made the right decision and have been guided in my relationship with Josh. We thrive as a couple. It is amazing how well we fit together. And then, on the day never to forget, of January 30th, 2012, Josh proposed with the words "Will you tie the knot and marry me?" as he knelt down with city lights shinning behind him, the song Marry Me playing in the background, and pulled out a ring of woven yarn that he hand crafted. That night I said yes to marry the most amazing man and my best friend.
It is the most incredible feeling in the world to look into the eyes of your fiance and realize you are the luckiest girl in the world because you are marrying your best friend. We laugh together, cook together, play games together, shop together, talk together, do homework together, and every once in a while share a kiss ;) Josh treats me like a princess. It is not always in big or obvious ways, but in the little every day acts. Like when we walk anywhere and have our backpacks he always carries the heavier one. Or how he brings me food to campus when he knows that I could use some food to get me through a long day. Or how he tells me every day with out fail how beautiful I am, and always genuinely means it (what a man!). Or how he drives me home at night because he knows how much I hate driving, especially when I am tired. Or the times that I have been sick and he takes such good care of me. There are so many things that I love about this man and I cannot wait for May 5th, 2012 to marry him in the Denver Temple. It will truly be one of the greatest days of my life.
I'm yours Mr. P. I love you!
