first signs of winter

Friday afternoon Josh and I went on a fancy date night to Tacanos, a nice Brazilian restaurant that is super delicious. We had a free meal because it was my birthday! Yay for free meals! It was fun to go out and spend time with hubby.

It snowed a good amount this weekend. Caused some tree branches to fall. We heard this one fall right in our stairwell last night, and Josh discovered the other branch on a car early this morning. I hope this doesn't happen every time it snows! But we are grateful that our house in unharmed and that our car is safe as well!

So what better things to do this morning than clean the house, bake a lot of muffins and make homemade potato bacon soup with our vita-mix.

the last few warm days of fall

Well, it was a wonderful 21st birthday. I got to sleep in, plus the time change, Josh made me a super yummy breakfast, we went to church, took pictures, visited my grandma and spent time with Josh's family. It was a pretty fantastic weekend if I do say so myself. I'm one year older and supposedly wiser too. I'm not feeling either one of those, so they must not be true ;).

Saturday Josh and I went down to my best friend Kelly's house in Ephraim! We spent the entire day there doing all sorts of fun things! We rode four wheelers through a beautiful canyon, did a little hiking, visited the turkey's at the farm, cooked an amazing meal, played Settlers of Catan, played a lot of card games and just had a great time!

The hike we went on was like this the entire time!

There were a lot of rock climbers and places to rock climb, so I decided to go for a little climb.

 This was probably one of the scariest parts of the hike. The boys decided to climb up this "waterfall" that was pretty straight up! Josh has on Vans which are not meant for any sort of hiking or slippery areas. So I was really nervous for him going up there. But he made it up, and down, safe and sound! It was quite the adventure.

Thank you so much Kelly for all that you did for me. Thank you for the all the yummy food, for letting us spend so much time with you, for the fun ride and hike and for being my best friend for so many years. I am so grateful for our wonderful friendship and knowing that I will be friends with you forever. You are an amazing gal and I thank you again for all the love and service that you do for me! I love you so much and I am excited for our next fun adventures together! I had a great birthday celebrating with you!

halloween

Holiday's are never quite the same than when you were a little kid. The excitement of it all. The build up to the day. It kinda becomes a disappointment the older you get. You still have school, homework, work, tests, football games and its as if you have to make time to have fun. Well, I am learning. Learning to embrace the little kid in me again with holidays. Just because I am growing up and life is more complicated and busy than it once was, doesn't mean that I can't be silly and just have fun and enjoy the different holidays.

So this Halloween we went to school, we did some homework, we went to Josh's intramural football game, and then we went to a Halloween party at my good friend April's house. Josh dressed up at a police officer and I dressed up as a gangster thug person.

But then part way into the night, when everyone was in the col-de-sac smashing pumpkins with a machete, I decided (with a lot of help from Josh) to go for a little run in my other costume. What people did not know before hand was that underneath my gangster clothes, I had on all nude colored clothes. So when I went for this run, and Josh (the cop) went running after me yelling "get that girl!", people thought for a second that I was actually streaking! Probably because it was dark. But I'm not going to lie, it was priceless! No worries people, I was fully clothed. But we could not have planned for a better reaction and timing of it all. We fooled everyone and they thought it was pretty darn funny. [even though I did get arrested ;)]

 It was a fun little prank and we had a great time with April and Cole and friends at their party. Hope you all had a safe and Happy Halloween as well!
